Pronomar can now add another satisfied customer to their references: the container vessel “Tokyo Express”, from Hapag Lloyd in Hamburg. They recently installed a 4” HCI bio ring at the evaporator. The way the ring works is that, after it is installed on the evaporator in question, it gives off tiny oscillations disturbing the scaling. Due to the cleaning of the system with the Merus technology the evaporator’s capacity is brought back to the performance levels experienced at the initial installation.
Apart from the longer lifespan and the initial capacity of the evaporators and quality of water, another major advantage of the Merus ring technology is that there is less service or maintenance required saving a lot of time and manpower as well as actual savings in operation costs that can vary from between 5 to up to 30%.
